Hey, I’m Nic—a Newcastle-based family photographer, mum, and former Early Childhood Teacher who swapped the preschool classroom for golden hour because I couldn’t ignore what lit me up anymore.

I work with families who want more than just pretty pictures. They want photos that feel like home—honest, warm, a little wild, and full of soul.

Before there were business plans and booking systems, it was just me, a camera, and this deep pull toward capturing the quiet magic in everyday life.

When maternity leave was ending, I realised I didn’t want to go back. I wanted something creative. Something meaningful. Something that let me be present—with my daughter, and with the stories I was meant to tell. So, I did the brave thing—and said yes to the dream I’d been carrying for years.

Now I spend my days photographing real families in all their beautifully imperfect glory. We’re not posing—we’re playing. We’re laughing. We’re letting the moment lead.

With 16 years of experience working with young children, I’ve got a sixth sense for reading the room (and the toddler). I won’t ask your kid to say cheese—I’ll be the one making dinosaur noises or pulling bubbles out of my bag like a snack-holding magician.

Sessions with me are relaxed, child-led, and full of connection. We pause for cuddles, snacks, whatever your kids need—because the best photos happen when no one’s being told to smile.

Also: I never show up without bubbles, I wind down with a strong cup of tea and a good crime drama, and I believe every family deserves photos that show them as they are, not as they think they’re supposed to be.
